WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE FACING PERRYVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS?

I have attended the Pirate Pride Initative that has been meeting at the district since last fall. I must say that the one comment that I heard over and over from teachers and administrators was "we need space". Our campus is aging and has areas that need repairs. We are out growing our buildings. The middle school building, which was built as an elementary, suffer issues with crowded hallways due to the fact those students are older than what the building was built to handle. The aging buildings and space issues are facing the district in the near future.

WHAT IN YOUR BACKGROUND OR EDUCATION MAKES YOU QUALIFIED FOR THIS OFFICE?

I feel I will bring the knowledge I've gained in making and enforcing rules to the Board of Education. I have gained knowledge over the last year and a half serving in Jefferson City on the Board of Professional Registration for my profession. Our sole purpose is consumer protection, therefore we set the guidelines that our industry must follow and we receive, review, and discipline any complaints filed within our guidelines.

I am a graduate of Perryville High School and also have a child completing his education this year in the district. He was in every building within the district, but did attend a private school for two and a half years. We've experienced both sides of education and understand the pros and cons associated with both.
