Ted Richard Coalter, 58, of Cape Girardeau left this earth to be with his savior Sunday, March 11, 2012.

He was born April 12, 1953, in St. Louis.

His surviving parents are Stan and Pat Coalter of Round Rock, Texas, and Bob and Peggy Webb of Ste. Genevieve, Mo. He is also survived by his spouse of 33 years, Debbie Coalter of Cape Girardeau; children, Jason Coalter and family of Cape Girardeau, Laura Parker and family of Sikeston, Mo.; three brothers; two sisters; four grandchildren; and many extended family members.

Ted graduated from Ste. Genevieve Senior High School in 1971.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in 1972.

He received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University in 1976.

In his entrepreneurial spirit, Ted started Coalter Financial Strategies, (formerly known as Heartland Insurance) and The Print Co. (formerly known as Cape Girardeau Printing).

He was very active in numerous charitable organizations as well as the Cape Girardeau community. He was most active in the Cape Girardeau Shrine Club, River Heritage Life Underwriters, Old Town Cape and Cape West Rotary, serving as president for each of these organizations. He was also a member of the Elks, Eagles and the American Legion. Ted strongly believed in working hard to make a difference in our community.

Ted was a man of strong faith and conviction and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Cape Girardeau. That faith and conviction was passed on to his family and countless numbers of people who were blessed to know him throughout his life.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating. Full military honors by Missouri Honors Team will be conducted at the church.
