Catherine Berns

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Catherine "Rita" Price Berns, 71, formerly of Perryville, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at Brendan House in Kalispell, Mont.

She was born Nov. 28, 1931, in Perryville, daughter of James and Della Schindler Elder.

She and Michael Price were married May 1, 1951. She later married Everett P. Berns on July 2, 1998.

She was an administrative assistant in advertising.

Survivors include her husband of Kalispell; a daughter, Linda Dicks of Denver, Colo.; two sons, Michael Price of Saline, Mich., and Patrick Price of Dearborn Heights, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Catherine Ghylin of Bremeraton, Wash.; three brothers, Paul and Roger Elder of Perryville, and Jim Elder of Detroit, Mich.; two sisters, Anna Hoffman of St. Louis and Josie Berek of Chico, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish wake will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 6:30 a.m. to 11:20 a.m.

The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin P. Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
