Melvin Prevallet

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Melvin W. Prevallet, 83, of Perryville died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.

He was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Longtown, Mo., son of Wilbert J. and Lydia E. Bergman Prevallet. He and Neola Morrison were married June 5, 1949.

Mr. Prevallet had been a truck driver for Shawneetown Feed. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and two sons, Sue (Stanley) Galeski of Perryville, Steve Prevallet of Branson, Mo., Stuart (Shelly) Prevallet and Sara Borden of Perryville; 11 grandchildren, Shawn, Shannon and Shane Galeski, Spencer, Lakyn and Lane Prevallet, Brittany and Benjamin Prevallet, Courtney, Austin and Dustin Borden; and two great-grandchildren, Josh Hill and Jayden Galeski.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Church, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran School or Serenity Hospice.
