Melvin Dean Little, 70, of Scott City died Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 20, 1941, to Theodore Scott and Lillian Elizabeth Sander Little. Dean married Sandra Lee Parker on Sept. 7, 1960. He later married Wendy Sullivan on June 26, 1999.

Dean was a dispatcher with ABF.

Survivors include two sons, Melvin Dean Little II and Scott Little of Jackson; a brother, Jerry Little of Kelso, Mo.; five grandchildren, Jessica Moore, Jacob and Jenna Little, April and Lacey Sanders; three great-grandchildren, Grace and Maddox Moore and Gavin York.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Tommy Miller officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Red Cross.
