CAIRO, Ill. -- A former Thebes, Ill., police officer pleaded guilty Thursday to official misconduct after allegedly releasing a person from custody in exchange for sexual favors. Terry Crowe, 39, of Mounds, Ill., was arrested in July 2011, after a yearlong investigation. Thebes mayor and acting police chief John Kennedy suspended Crowe during the investigation. Crowe resigned a week after his suspension. Alexander County Judge Mark Clarke sentenced Crowe to 24 months of probation.
