ORAN, Mo. -- Raymond B. Blattel, 91, of Oran died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 14, 1920, in Oran, to Martin F. and Mayme Sietman Blattel. He married Berniece E. Kirby May 8, 1943. She preceded him in death May 20, 2004.

Raymond was a dispatcher with AmerenUE of Cape Girardeau before retiring. He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, St. Joseph Sodality and Knights of Columbus Council 4311.

Survivors include a son, Steve (Shelley) Blattel of Porter, Texas; two daughters, Margaret and Bonita Blattel of Cape Girardeau; two granddaughters, Lindsay Blattel of Dallas, Stacey Gatlin of Plano, Texas; two great-granddaughters, Harper and Lucy Gatlin of Plano; and a sister, Gladys Thompson of Jackson.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Parish rosary will be at 6 p.m., followed by Knights of Columbus prayers at 6:15.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Guardian Angel Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
