All the local high school events reported Monday to the Southeast Missourian.

There wasn't much separating the Notre Dame and Jackson girls soccer teams Monday night.

The squads failed to score through regulation and overtime before visiting Notre Dame prevailed 1-0 on penalty kicks.

Notre Dame improved to 4-1, the same record as Jackson after the Indians suffered their first loss.

"It was a heck of a game," Notre Dame coach Jeff Worley said. "Both teams had some good chances to score."

Brianne Sanders, Jordan Nelson, Taylor Rinda and Abby Boyer made penalty kicks for Notre Dame.

The Bulldogs claimed the victory when keeper Madison Buelow stopped two of Jackson's first four penalty kicks.

Notre Dame won the JV game 2-1.

St. Vincent 9, Hillsboro 1

Kayla Seabaugh scored three goals as the Indians improved to 6-0.

Abby Lappe added two goals, while Rachel Mudd, Courtney Heberlie, Kayla Winkler and Abby Ruessler all had one.

Storm French finished with three assists.

Freshman goaltender Brett Schario had three saves in her first victory.

BASEBALL

Oran 11, Oak Ridge 0

Oran's Dalton Elfrink had three hits at the plate and held Oak Ridge to two hits in the Eagles' five-inning road victory.

Elfrink struck out eight and did not walk a batter.

Kody Moore added three hits, including a pair of doubles and five RBIs for Oran (5-1).

Layton Tenkhoff added a triple and two hits for Chaffee (7-1), while Cody Payne had a double among his two hits.

Cody Payne and Cody Johnson each had doubles for Chaffee, which improved to 8-1.

Jared Walker allowed three hits in posting the win on the mound.

Dallas Naramore had a double for Delta.

Losing pitcher C.J. McAlister had a double among his two hits for Woodland (3-2). Dylan Miller and Garrett Reynolds added doubles.
