All the local high school events reported Wednesday to the Southeast Missourian.

Jackson posted a five-shot victory in the 10-team Farmington Invitational on Wednesday at Crown Pointe Golf Club in Farmington, Mo.

Jackson finished with a 328 total to edge out Sikeston, which shot 333.

Drew Hosp led the Indians with a 78, which was one shot behind Sikeston medalist Evan Deere. Adam Way (82), Conner Thrower (84) and Eli Pike (84) rounded out Jackson's team score.

Central 172, Dexter 182

Sophomore Travis Simmons earned medalist with a 1-over-par 37 to lead Central to a 10-shot victory at Hidden Trails Country Club in Dexter, Mo.

Cody Stevens paced Dexter with a 38.

Oran 10, Scott City 2

Oran struck for five runs in the first inning and improved to 6-1 with a win at home.

Chance Tenkhoff had a double and three RBIs for the Eagles, while Blake Carlyle and Jacob Priggel both had three hits. Trenton Hency added two hits, and Seth Ressel had a double.

Ryan Fortner had three of Scott City's six hits, including a home run and a double.

Oran's Kody Moore pitched all seven innings, striking out seven and not walking a batter.

Losing pitcher Logan Henson allowed eight hits in three innings.

Moldenhauer allowed just one hit in 2 2/3 innings of relief. He struck out four and hit one batter.

Erin Eakens and Alexa Kelpe scored in the first half, while Jordan Myer and Jackie Sievers tallied goals after intermission.

Tori Smith, Mollie Crader and Rachel Crites recorded assists, while Indians goaltender Sarah Blanton made four saves.

Perryville fell to 3-3.

SOFTBALL

Leopold 15, Zalma 6

Emily Elfrink belted a grand slam to help the Wildcats breeze to a victory at home.

Elfrink. who also had a triple, finished 3 for 4.

Dana Thiele added two doubles and also went 3 for 4, while Ashley Keim had a triple. Shelbee Miller and Denai Arnzen both added two hits for Leopold (4-0).

Caitlin Petty picked up the win in the circle, allowing six hits in seven innings. She struck out three and walked three.
