Junior Palmer

Junior "Denny" Palmer, 86, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born Nov. 24, 1925, in McClure, Ill., to Harry and Mary Alma Carrow Palmer. He and Margie Johnson were married March 2, 2004, in Corning, Ark.

Palmer was a member of Local 513 Operator Union 27 years, working at Lonestar Stone Co. He retired in 1997.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Palmer of McClure; two sons, Mike (Lasaunda) Palmer of Arnold, Mo., Kevin (Jennifer) Palmer of Omaha, Neb.; two stepsons, Thomas Mason of St. Louis, Dayrl Reece of Grand Chain, Ill.; three stepdaughters, Sharon (Greg) Reeves of Crossville, Tenn., Sheila (Randy) Prater and Tammy Hilton of McClure; a sister, Barbara Baker of Cape Girardeau; two daughters-in-law, Pat Palmer and Debbie Palmer; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Denny Joe Palmer; first wife, Ruby Palmer; second wife, Virginia Palmer; five sisters; and three brothers.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery in McClure.
