Ben H. Roberts, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center, after a brief illness. He was born Nov. 6, 1921, in Wildersville, Tenn., to Mr. and Mrs. Herman Roberts, at the home of his grandmother. He lived in Macon, Ga., until he was a teenager. Ben H. Roberts, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center, after a brief illness.

He was born Nov. 6, 1921, in Wildersville, Tenn., to Mr. and Mrs. Herman Roberts, at the home of his grandmother. He lived in Macon, Ga., until he was a teenager. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1935 where he attended Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University.

He and Margaret Ellen Foster were married in her family home in Cape Girardeau.

Ben's career consisted of labor negotiations with Fruehauf Trailer Corp. 45 years. He and his wife retired in Jackson the same year. In later years they moved to Chateau Girardeau where Ben has resided seven years.

His wife, Margaret Ellen, preceded him in death in 2005.

Survivors include Martha Lou McGinty and family, and his brother's widow and their children.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
