PIEDMONT, Mo. -- Kenneth Dwayne Mills, 69, of Piedmont died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his wife, daughter and mother.

He was born Feb. 6, 1943, in Sikeston, Mo., son of Georgia Ritchie Mills of Sikeston, and the late Kenneth Mills.

Mills was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Vietnam War.

He worked in sales and marketing for CITGO Petroleum before retiring.

He and Sue Hillis were married June 2, 1967.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Matt Bredemeier of Grand Forks, N.D.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lynn and Lisa Mills of Oran, Mo., Derek and Sheila Mills of Vanduser, Mo.; and a granddaughter, Lily Bredemeier.

A sister, Brenda Sue Mills, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Anderson, pastor of Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, officiating. Interment will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with full military honors.

Pallbearers will be Lynn Mills, Derek Mills, Matt Bredemeier, Richard Phegley, Gary Hilton and Bervil Hillis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Fowler, Ray Fulkerson, Dennis Underwood, Bob Herring, Steve Lindsey and Jimmy Turnbough.
