Traffic will be restricted to one lane on the U.S. 51/U.S. 60/U.S. 62 Ohio River Bridge between Wickliffe, Ky., and Cairo, Ill., starting Monday. A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will perform maintenance and electrical work on the bridge from about 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. The restrictions may occasionally remain in place as late as 6 p.m. Weather permitting, the work is expected to take between three and four weeks to complete. Motorists should be cautious of equipment and personnel on the bridge deck near traffic flow. Delays are expected to be minimal and generally less than 5 minutes. Farmers needing to move oversize equipment across the bridge or truckers hauling wide loads should contact the KYTC Paducah office at 270-898-2431 to make special arrangements.
