The Special Collections and Archives at Southeast Missouri State University's Kent Library has received a grant for digitizing original Civil War materials.

The $73,139 grant, funded by the Missouri Library Services and Technology Act, will pay for digitizing materials held by libraries, historical agencies and individuals from the region and across the country. The project a collaborative effort by departments at Southeast, the Cape Girardeau County Archive Center and the Special Collections Research Center of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Materials collected for this project cover 28 counties throughout Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois.
