Public hearing Tuesday will focus on Ameren electric rates

The Missouri Public Service Commission will host a local public hearing in Cape Girardeau on Tuesday in an electric rate case filed by Ameren Missouri.

The meeting will start at noon at the Osage Centre, meeting room 2AB. The meeting will include an information/question-and-answer session with the taking of sworn testimony to follow, according to a commission news release.

On Feb. 3, Ameren Missouri filed an electric rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to increase annual electric operating revenue by about $375.6 million. For the average residential customer, the proposed increase would be about 14 percent, or $14 a month. Ameren Missouri provides electric service to about 1.2 million customers.
