Former Southeast Missouri State women's basketball player Beck to play overseas

One of the most durable players in Southeast Missouri State women's basketball history will continue her playing career overseas.

Former Southeast point guard Bianca Beck has signed a professional contract with Matnas Tel Kabir in Israel.

Beck led Southeast with 102 assists during the 2011-12 season. She played in 116 games for the Redhawks, which ranks third in school history.

"This is a great honor for Bianca to continue her playing career overseas," Southeast coach Ty Margenthaler said in a release. "This is a good opportunity for her, and it's great for the direction that our basketball program is headed.

"Developing players who are able to play beyond their four years of college is huge for our program. I wish Bianca all the best as she starts her professional career."

Beck spent the summer playing for the St. Louis Surge in the Women's Blue Chip Basketball League. The St. Louis native helped her team finish second in the nation after earning a wild-card berth in the playoffs.

"I want to give a special thanks to [Southeast assistant coach] Dionnah Jackson," Beck said in the release. "She helped me connect with the team in Israel and really pointed me in the right direction. Ty and the rest of the coaching staff were a great help as well.

"I would never have gotten this opportunity if I wasn't a Redhawk."
