Emma Ellen Henson, 79, of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born Thursday, April 13, 1933, in Pocahontas, Ark., to Hazel Edgar and Emma Ellen Stokes Wantland. She and Robert Henson were married Friday, April 11, 1952, at Michigan City, Ind.

Emma was a member of LaCroix United Methodist Church. She had been credit manager for Montgomery Ward in Michigan City. She had been a Realtor and was executive vice president of Link Electronics in Cape Girardeau, a business owned by she and her husband.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Robin Ellen (Rodney) Payne of Willis, Texas, and Cynthia Yvonne Sovich of Walla Walla, Wash.; a son, Robert Neal Henson Jr. of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Michael Lee Payne, Matthew Lee Payne and Steven Lee Payne, all of Willis, Amy Yvonne Manion of Chicago, Ann Marie Sovich of Walla Walla and Robert Neal Henson III of Cape Girardeau; and two great-grandchildren, Avery Lee Payne and Ethan Lee Payne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and a sister.

Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at LaCroix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Ron Watts officiating.

Burial will follow in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. Pallbearers will be Jim Timberlake, Dave Aufdenberg, Eddie Dry and Jim Huckabee.

Memorial contributions may be given to LaCroix United Methodist Church, 3102 Lexington Ave., Cape Girardeau, MO 63701, in the name of Emma Ellen Henson.
