A new director and business manager have been chosen to lead the Show Me Center at Southeast Missouri State University.

Wil Gorman, project manager with DNC-Sportservice at Scottsdale Stadium in Arizona and Rangers Ballpark of Arlington, Texas, is the new director. He will begin his duties Sept. 17. Shannon Buford, who has been educational director at Metro Business College in Cape Girardeau since 2011, took over as business manager Aug. 27.

Gorman holds a bachelor of science degree in recreation from Southeast and a certificate from the International Association of Assembly Managers. He replaces David Ross, who retired at the end of May after serving as director since the facility's opening in 1987. Gorman has more than 20 years experience in facility management, and has worked as stadium manager for TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb., and at Tempe Diablo Stadium in Tempe, Ariz. He has also served as senior director of Brewers Enterprises in Milwaukee, retail manager at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, spring training ticketing manager with the California Angels and general manager of the Tempe Rafters in the Arizona Fall Baseball League.
