PUXICO, Mo. -- Juanita Evelyn Ward Sifford, 89, of Puxico passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Sifford was born Aug. 2, 1923, in Detroit. On Nov. 30, 1941, she married John "Square" Albert Sifford in Puxico. He preceded her in death Sept. 10, 1999.
She was a member of the Puxico Christian Church and Order of the Eastern Star, Puxico Chapter No. 422. Sifford had been a beautician and owned and operated her own shop.
Sifford is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann (Jeannie) McKifford of Sikeston, Mo.; a son, Jeffrey Wayne Sifford of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two grandchildren, John R. (Stephanie) Sifford of Groton, Conn., Thomas B. (Issa) Sifford of Bossier City, La.; a brother, Louis Ward of Grand Junction, Colo.; and a sister, Carolyn Dillard of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Other relatives and family also survive.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Puxico Cemetery, with the Rev. Ricky White officiating. Interment will follow.
