It took two days in its latest effort, but the Scott City football team got off to its first 3-0 start since the 2007 season.

The Rams concluded a weather-suspended game with East Prairie on Saturday and were rewarded with a 36-0 road victory.

Scott City led 21-0 at halftime Friday night when the game was suspended by severe storms that canceled most football games around Southeast Missouri.

Jonathan McFall had thrown touchdown passes of 12 yards to Ryan Fortner and 20 yards to Brett Dirnberger, then scored on a 20-yard run to provide the 21-0 halftime lead.

The Rams tacked on a pair of 8-yard touchdown runs by Zach Haynes when play resumed Saturday.

Scott City senior running back Travis Phillips rushed for 132 yards on 24 carries to lead a 244-yard ground attack.

McFall completed 4 of 12 passes for 64 yards.

Potosi 30, Perryville 14

The Trojans avenged the Pirates' lone victory of the 2011 season by winning the battle of two 2-0 teams.

The game was originally scheduled for Friday but was moved to Saturday due to weather.
