Southeast Missouri State tennis player Elizabeth Nyenwe finished second in Flight B singles Sunday at the Austin Peay Fall Invitational.

Nyenwe came up on the short end of a tight match against Eastern Kentucky's Melissa Gerritsen that took 3 1/2 hours.

Gerritsen edged Nyenwe 7-6 (5) in the first set that lasted two hours. Nyenwe rallied to take the second set 7-6 (4) before Gerritsen closed out the win in a super tie-breaker 10-5.

Southeast continues its fall schedule Oct. 18 at the ITA Regional in West Lafayette, Ind.
