Lawrence and Donna Marler of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., will serve as marshals in Southeast Missouri State University's Homecoming parade Oct. 20, the university announced in a news release Monday. The parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Capaha Park and travel east on Broadway to Main Street, ending at 43 S. Main. The parade will include marching bands, floats, decorated man and woman of the year and more. The Marlers received the 2012 Friend of the University Award, the highest honor given by the Southeast Missouri University Foundation. "Southeast is so appreciative of the support, dedication and the gifts that Larry and Donna Marler have given to their alma mater," Southeast President Dr. Ken Dobbins said.
