Southeast Missouri State freshman defender Paige Luehmann was named the Ohio Valley Conference defensive player of the week for women's soccer Tuesday.

Luehmann played 183 of a possible 184 minutes as Southeast won both its games last week. The Granite City, Ill., native helped the Redhawks hold their opponents to only one goal.

Luehmann also recorded two assists, both on game-winning goals, as Southeast beat Eastern Kentucky 1-0 in overtime and Morehead State 2-1.

The Redhawks return to action Friday at Belmont.
