Area Republicans are so ecstatic about Mitt Romney's clear-cut victory in the first debate and convinced that he will win, I think they have forgotten about the existence of a hallowed institution that might sober up Mitt's minions, at least to a degree. It's called the Electoral College and is based on the electoral vote, and it determines the outcome of the election...

Premature celebration may prove costly. Area Republicans are so ecstatic about Mitt Romney's clear-cut victory in the first debate and convinced that he will win, I think they have forgotten about the existence of a hallowed institution that might sober up Mitt's minions, at least to a degree. Regarding Saturday mail delivery, we can live without it. I might be wrong but I don't remember Saturday mail when I was a kid. We do not get a Saturday paper anymore and we can still face the day.

Great performance

Congratulations to all the Jackson High School students who performed in Thursday night's choir concert. These teens were amazingly talented and received a well-deserved standing ovation at the conclusion. We sometimes criticize today's young adults too often over petty issues, but their performance at the concert showed they can also be professional, mature and a proud asset to the community.
