Earle B. Searcy, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.
He was born Feb. 22, 1928, in Springfield, Ill., to Earle Benjamin and Fae Isenberg Searcy Sr. He and Elwanda "Wanda" Lindeman were married July 22, 1968, in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death April 6, 2012.
Earle served in the Army from Feb. 26, 1946, to Aug. 27, 1947.
He was the owner of Legislative Resources in Springfield, Ill. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Gordonville, St. Mark's Masonic Lodge 93 in Cape Girardeau, Scottish Rite and Shriners in Springfield.
Survivors include a son, David and Linda Searcy of Waverly, Ill.; four daughters, Janalyn and Marcus Miller of Petersburg, Ill., Ruby and Truman Lemons of Cape Girardeau, Frances and Bill Van Noy of Little Rock, Ark., Erma and Steve Fernandes of San Diego; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Larry Searcy of Springfield; and a sister, Barbara Damewood of Cahokia, Ill.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at Zion United Methodist Church. A Masonic service will be held at 10 a.m.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Joel Kidwell officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by Missouri Honors Team.
