Why do Democrats keep saying that the Republicans want to take away your Social Security when it has been proved time and time again that is not true. If you will check and see, you will find that every time Social Security has been disturbed, we either had a Democratic president or a Democratic House and Senate.

Watergate No. 1 during the Nixon administration nobody got killed. Nixon resigned. Watergate No. 2 (Fast and Furious), one American got killed. Watergate No. 3 (Libya), four Americans got killed. Should Obama resign?

Help, not complain

I'm calling in response to the person who called the train in Jackson an "eye sore." This person could do like so many do and volunteer his time at the depot helping with the upkeep of the train and grounds. By the way, the train rides bring a lot of money and people to the Jackson area. Grab a paint brush and quit complaining.

I've been feeling sad about our nation lately, and I found out why when I read Proverbs 29:2. When the righteous are in authority the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule the people mourn.

Thanks for pole light

I would like to thank the City of Cape Girardeau and Ameren for finally putting up a pole light at Big Bend and Fifth Street. It's so nice having lights again. Now all we need is a fire hydrant again. Thank you so much.
