He was born July 12, 1956, in Gideon, Mo., to the late Walter B. and Susan Mae Head Oakes. He was adopted by the late Della Cobb and raised by Della and Audy Page. SIKESTON, Mo. -- Rickey Dewayne Cobb, 56, of Sikeston, formerly of Delta, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, in Sikeston.

He was born July 12, 1956, in Gideon, Mo., to the late Walter B. and Susan Mae Head Oakes. He was adopted by the late Della Cobb and raised by Della and Audy Page. He married Wanda Bickings Burns on June 16, 2012, who survives.

He was a member of the U.S. Army, Advance Eagles Club Aerie 4154 and Sikeston Eagles Club Aerie 4206. He was retired owner-operator of Delta Lube and Tire in Delta.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Burns-Cobb of Sikeston; two sons, Daniel (fiancee Jamie) Cobb, Matthew Cobb, both of Peoria, Ill.; stepfather, Audy Page of Greenbriar, Mo.; two stepsons, Gary (Holly) Burns II of Puxico, Mo., Jonathan Burns of Sikeston; one stepdaughter, Laura (Larry) Wade of Advance, Mo.; two granddaughters, Haleigh and Matisyn Cobb; four stepgrandchildren, Aubrey Wade, Audrey Rodgers, Talley and Whittley Burns; five sisters, Brenda Reed and Judy Akridge, both of Campbell, Mo., Kay Coleson of Cape Girardeau, Linda Templeton of Marble Hill, Mo., Alice Henderson of Olive Branch, Mo.; two half -brothers, Glenn Oakes of Osceola, Ark., and L.G. Oakes of Bald Knob, Ark.; and special family friend Cathy Gaines of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gary Burns II officiating. He will be escorted to New Morley Cemetery in Morley, Mo., by War Child Motorcycle Club. Burial will follow with full military honors by the Missouri Honor Guard.
