Deborah Williamson Witt, 57, of Midland N.C., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

She was born March 12, 1955, in Memphis, Tenn., to Gloria Lakenan Williamson and the late William Taylor Williamson.

She graduated from Jackson High School, and earned her bachelor's of science in International Studies from Southwestern at Memphis, now Rhodes College. Mrs. Witt also earned her master's of business administration and Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina. She was a real estate attorney in Columbia, S.C., for many years and taught fourth grade in Canon School in Concord, N.C.

Debbie was a voracious reader, avid gardener and accomplished seamstress who enjoyed needlework and knitting. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister, and will be deeply missed by her family.

Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Back Creek Presbyterian Church, 1821 Back Creek Church Road, Charlotte, N.C.

The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her loving husband of 28 years, Ralph F. Witt; daughter, Meredith E. Witt, of Cary, N.C.; sons, Patrick D. Witt, S. Bennett Witt, Will (Grayson) Witt; and one granddaughter, all of Midland, N.C.; sisters, Denise W. Wilson (Ross) of Charlotte, Jean W. Ward (Travis) of Chicago; two nieces; and a nephew.
