Dorothy Lee Allison Bridwell, 86, of Conway, Ark., passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012.

She was born April 19, 1926, in Cape Girardeau, the oldest daughter of Robert and Christine Allison's family of 10 children. Dorothy was married to Floyd Preston Bridwell on Dec. 22, 1948. He died in 2002.

They moved to Arkansas with their three children in 1966, first living in Hot Springs and then moving to Greers Ferry in 1970 where they owned the Narrows Boat Dock, Snug Harbor Dinner Theater, Chick n' Lick Restaurant and Designer Glass, a stained glass studio.

Dorothy was a member of Higden Church of Christ, VFW Ladies Auxiliary as well as the Optimist Club of Greers Ferry.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy (Clint) Triplett of Greers Ferry; two sons, Robert (Chris) Bridwell of Conway, Randy Bridwell of North Little Rock, Ark.; three grandchildren, Ashley (Nathan) Pyle, Matthew (Brandi) Bridwell and Jim (Candy) Triplett; and six great-grandchildren, with a seventh due Christmas Day.

Also three siblings, Monica (John) Cobb of Belton, Mo., Mildred Clay of Cape Girardeau and Harold (Vavra) Allison of Huntsville, Ala.; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dorothy will be remembered fondly for her quick wit, independent spirit, culinary skills and artistic talent.

A private family graveside service will be at Crossroads Cemetery in Greers Ferry at a later date, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Floyd.
