Perry County superintendent will earn $115K in first year

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- The incoming superintendent for the Perry County School District will have a base salary of $115,000 for each year of his three-year contract.

Scott Ireland will receive that amount with the possibility of a raise in the second and third years of his contract, according to information provided by the school district. Ireland's raise will be contingent upon educators in the district also receiving raises. If that occurs in Ireland's second year, his salary would become $117,500. If there is a raise for teachers in his third year as superintendent, Ireland's new salary would be $120,000.

Ireland, currently the superintendent of the Pleasant Hope School District in Pleasant Hope, Mo., accepted the superintendent position Friday after the Perry County School Board voted to offer him the three-year contract set to begin in July.
