David Louis Elfrink, 76, of Jackson passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 31, 1936, in Leopold, Mo., son of Anthony and Gertrude Tenholder Elfrink. He and Juliana "Judy" Holzum were married May 13, 1961.

David was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson. He was an active member of the church and school, a 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus, a member of the prison ministry and TEC, and had volunteered at the Sikeston, Mo., Food Pantry.

He managed the original Elfrink Truck Line terminal in Sikeston. He also worked briefly for Bill Wallace State Farm Insurance Agency and Country Mart in Jackson.

Loving survivors include his wife of 51 years; a daughter, Lisa Goodson of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Claire, Trevor and Lydia Goodson of Jackson; two brothers, Anthony (Rose Mary) Elfrink of Cahokia, Ill., Gerald (Marilyn) Elfrink of Dupo, Ill.; a sister, Anna Marie Neely of Jackson; two sisters-in-law, Martha Elfrink of Cape Girardeau and Virginia Elfrink of Leopold.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Walter and Virgil Elfrink.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., followed by the rosary by Knights of Columbus.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church. The Rev. John Harth will officiate, assisted by Monsignor Edward Eftink, the Revs. Bob Landewee and Paul McLoughlin. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery with full military honors.

Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Building Fund, the Missouri Veterans Home or the Alzheimer's Association.
