Dr. James Stapleton, professor of business and director of the Douglas C. Shoemaker is SoutheastHEALTH'S vice president of physician services

Dr. Matthew Shoemaker was named vice president of physician services for SoutheastHEALTH. Shoemaker's responsibilities include patient-care quality and collaborating with the Southeast Medical Group to build a physician-led and -managed organization. Shoemaker earned his undergraduate degrees in biology and philosophy at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Mo. Shoemaker has practiced medicine in Cape Girardeau since 2007.
