Thebes Courthouse to reopen in March

THEBES, Ill. -- The historic Thebes Courthouse will reopen March 16 after being closed during winter.

Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. The courthouse is available for tours. The annual Memorial Day weekend celebration is planned for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 25 through 27. Events planned include a community worship service, music by Southern gospel group Anticipation and others, tours, crafts, food and vendors. The courthouse is at the intersection of 5th and Oak streets on a hill that overlooks the Mississippi River.
