SIKESTON, Mo. -- Northbound and southbound Interstate 55 in New Madrid and Pemiscot counties, from U.S. 60 to the Arkansas state line, will be reduced to one lane as contractor crews begin installing guard cable and guard rails. Weather permitting, work will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. from March 18 through July 31. Work zones will be marked. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution near the area.
