MoDOT to improve Sikeston signals

SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of Transportation is preparing to improve traffic signals at three intersections in Sikeston. The signals will be retrofitted with flashing yellow arrows, which will help ease traffic flow. Work to update signals at the intersections of U.S. 61 with Helen and Smith streets, and the intersection of U.S. 62 with Stalcup Drive, is expected to begin April 11 and be completed by April 26. MoDOT also plans to install flashing yellow arrows at the U.S. 60/U.S. 61 interchange in coming weeks. As work is underway to update the signals, traffic will be minimally affected. Installing flashing yellow arrows for left-turning traffic is expected to help increase efficiency during off-peak times. A flashing yellow arrow will signify that drivers turning left should yield to oncoming traffic. The signals also will display solid green arrows when left-turning traffic has the right of way. A solid yellow arrow will indicate drivers should prepare to stop or complete the turn if in the intersection.

U.S. 60 in Stoddard County reduced for pavement repairs

Eastbound U.S. 60 in Stoddard County, from Highway 51 to Route F, will be reduced to one lane with a nine-foot width restriction as contractor crews resurface the roadway. The work will be performed from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily from Wednesday through May 17.

I-55 in Pemiscot County reduced for pavement work

Northbound Interstate 55 at Route T, mile marker 30.6, in Pemiscot County will be reduced as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs. The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily from April 16 through 23.
