CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- A Missouri man was arrested after leading police on a brief chase from a Bootheel casino.

At 12:43 a.m. Monday, Caruthersville police were called to the Lady Luck Casino at the request of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

"A Missouri state gaming agent was in foot pursuit of a suspect that he had arrested at the casino on an outstanding warrant," said Caruthersville City Marshal Tony Jones. "The suspect had fled the casino in an attempt to escape custody."

A short time later, Caruthersville officers located the man, Jones said in a news release. A struggle ensued, resulting in minor injuries to the officers. The man was arrested after the use of a stun gun.

Joshua Patterson, 30, of Campbell, Mo., was being held Monday morning in the Pemiscot County Justice Center on the outstanding warrant. Additional charges of felony fleeing and assaulting law enforcement officers will be sought, according to the police chief.
