The Cape Girardeau Police Department is searching for three men involved in a Monday afternoon robbery.

According to police spokesman Sgt. Jason Selzer, at about 12:45 p.m., the victim was outside his residence in the 800 block of North Sprigg Street when two people pulled up to the curb in a small green car. The victim was familiar with one of the people in the car and began to have a conversation with him. It was during that time a third person came up behind the victim and struck him in the head, Selzer said.

Selzer said the victim fell to the sidewalk and he was kicked. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from his pockets, and the car drove away with the assailant running in the same direction. The victim had no injuries, Selzer said.
