Rayford B. Limbaugh, 88, of Pocahontas passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 5, 1924, in Sedgewickville, Mo., son of Morton Burette and Cora Jane Lively Limbaugh. He and Flora Steiner were married Dec. 25, 1955.

Rayford graduated from Sedgewickville High School. He was a farmer all his life, farming the Limbaugh family farm in his earlier years. The land that his son is now farming has been in Limbaugh hands more than 200 years.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

Loving survivors include his wife of Pocahontas; a son, Stephen Limbaugh of Pocahontas; two sisters, Leona (E.P.) Kurre and Venieda Reynolds of Cape Girardeau; a sister-in-law, Eula Limbaugh of Cape Girardeau; three nieces, Dina Kurre (Neil) Casey of Cape Girardeau, Gina Kurre (Terry) Rogers of St. Louis and Tammy Reynolds (Roger) Johns of Kerrville, Texas; and a nephew, Terry Reynolds of Poplar Bluff, Mo.

He was preceded in death by two infant sisters, Dorinda May and Juelene Limbaugh; and two brothers, Joe and Lloyd Linzel Limbaugh.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

The funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Pallbearers will be Dan Limbaugh of St. Louis, Chad Limbaugh of Winchester, Tenn., John Limbaugh of Memphis, Tenn., Keith Balsman of Jackson, Roger Guilliams of Whitewater, Jil Sander of Jackson and Judge Stephen Limbaugh Jr. of Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the donor's choice.
