CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Virginia D. Wood, 62, of Chaffee died Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 7, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, to Donald Dean and Emma Jean Dewrock Terry. She and Gary Wood were married Dec. 21, 1993, in Scott City.

Virginia and her husband rode with the American Legion Riders and the Patriot Guard. For eight years she was office manager at Owens Enterprises in Jackson. She loved to play bingo and collected frogs.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Wood of Chaffee; four sons, Wayne Berry of Delta, Chris and Joe Wood of Chaffee, Shannon Michael Avery of Park Hills, Mo.; five daughters, Jennifer (Greg) Brawley of Whitewater, Joni (Chad) Self-Woollums of Randles, Jeana (Lisa Lange) Terry of Cape Girardeau, Deana (fiance Joey Camp) Livingston of Grand Tower, Ill., Chanda Wood of Chaffee; two brothers, Michael (Marlys) Berry of Jackson, Joe Don (Roberta) Terry of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Susan (Mike) Randle of Thebes, Ill., Tammy Terry of Marble Hill, Mo.; 16 grandchildren, Gregory, David, Emma, Kaylee, James, Chad, Raven, Harley, Landon, Presley, Casey, Donna, Rickie, Madisyn, Ryleigh, Alizabeth; and a great-grandchild, Brentley.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the family to be applied toward funeral expenses.
