People who can't put their iPhones down when they should be working should be fired. Then they'll realize they won't have money to pay for their iPhones.
Kudos to Joe Sullivan for his excellent editorial about the once happy village.
I went to school at Southeast in the '60s. Every Saturday, we'd walk downtown to Main Street and go shopping. It was such a nice, pleasant walk down Broadway and seeing all the nice fun places. That's all changed now. There are bars, vacant buildings, lingerie shops, and I guess I really wish we could go back to the good old days when we had a nice downtown that was great to show people who came to visit. It's unfortunate and I wish we could do something to make things better. A lot of people come here to look at the river and we don't have much to show them.
Someone called in to Speak Out and said Obama's a hypocrite and his party supports same-sex marriage and abortion. There are some Republicans who do the same thing. Don't people go to church to ask for guidance? Did the person who called never sin? That's being a hypocrite.
I was wondering when the city will clean up the garbage across the street from the casino. It is a disgrace. The city had to acquire and tear down the old Mission Church on Mill Street, which opened up the view to all the trash behind it. It turns out the church's destruction was not necessary to complete the new streets.
