All the local high school events reported Friday to the Southeast Missourian.

Seth Ressel went 3 for 3 at the plate to lead host Oran to a 5-0 victory over Oak Ridge in boys baseball action Friday afternoon.

Kody Moore picked up his first win of the season on the mound for the Eagles (5-2). He threw six innings, giving up two hits and striking out 11 batters.

Jake LeGrand suffered the loss for Oak Ridge (2-2), pitching five innings and giving up five runs (one earned) on six hits while striking out six. He also doubled at the plate.

Chaffee tournament

The Chaffee baseball team posted a pair of five-inning blowouts in the opening day of its round robin tournament.

The Red Devils rolled over Puxico 10-0 in the first game and followed with a 13-0 rout of Meadow Heights to improve its record to 11-3 on the season.

Jared Walker smacked a triple and a double to lead Chaffee in the victories. Layton Tenkhoff and Cole Hanna each had a double.

Lane Henson was the winning pitcher against the Indians. Storm Estes recorded the win on the mound against the Panthers.

Ashlyn Bucher ripped two doubles to help keep the Wildcats undefeated with a six-inning road victory.

Caitlin Petty picked up her fourth win in the circle for Leopold (6-0). She pitched a complete game and had four strikeouts.

Lorie VanGennip hit a double to pace the Bulldogs.

GIRLS SOCCER

Saxony Lutheran 10, Massac County (Ill.) 0

The Saxony Lutheran girls' soccer team continued its dominating ways with a shutout at home.

Maci Daniel, Courtney Bergman, Kristy Winter, Abby Hadler, Ashlynn Collier, Maddie Brune, Lauren Hecht, Ali Galemmo, Logan Meyr and Jordan Huff all scored one goal for the Crusaders.

Brianna Mueller recorded four assists while Daniel tallied two. Hecht, Meyr, Collier and Grace Mirly contributed an assist apiece.

The unbeaten Crusaders (8-0) remained unscored upon as goalkeeper Abby Goeckeler earned her eighth shutout of the season.
