The Missouri State Highway Patrol still is investigating a Highway 34 crash that led to the death of Bollinger County teen Amelia Fisher.

The accident happened Friday when a Slumberland Furniture truck crossed the centerline and struck the Toyota 4Runner carrying Fisher, 17, of Grassy, Mo., and driver Erin L. Cordell, 18, of Marble Hill, Mo., according to the patrol's crash report. The driver of the Slumberland truck, Bobby J. Abernathy, 33, and passenger Eric A. Smith, 22, both of Jackson, had moderate injuries, as did Cordell.

Trooper Clark Parrott said the patrol still was looking at the crash site and trying to map out the scene as part of its investigation. He said the exact cause of the crash has still not been determined. He could not say for sure when the investigation would be completed.

Funeral services for Fisher were held Tuesday at the Cornerstone Wesleyan Church in Scott City.

Students attending prom Saturday at Woodland High School, where Fisher was in her junior year, brought roses and had a moment of silence in her honor, said superintendent Jennings Wilkinson. He also said the school's counseling staff has made an extra effort to be available to all students touched by the tragedy, even opening up the school's doors the Saturday after the crash to speak with students.

Fisher was a member of the school's pep club and Centenary Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.
