DEXTER, Mo. -- Ellen Rowena Sattler, 58, of Dexter departed this life Monday, April 8, 2013, at her home.

She was born March 25, 1955, at Gray Ridge, Mo., daughter of Thelma Britton. She was united in marriage to Scott Sattler in Cape Girardeau.

Ellen was a member of Light House Christian Church in Dexter. She was a volunteer at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, and a member of Southeast Hospital Auxiliary Board, Southeast Hospital Foundation Association and Southeast Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, David Vaughn and Brian Wells of Dexter; a daughter, Tammy Overbey and husband Roger of Bell City, Mo.; stepfather, Jesse Jr. Britton of Dudley, Mo.; a brother, Donald Britton of Dexter; two sisters, Betty Sue Patterson and Barbara Ann Wells of Dudley; five grandchildren, Jessica Underwood, Jacob Overbey, Josh Overbey, Aaron Wells and Susie Wells; and a great-grandchild, Alexis Underwood.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and two sisters, Thelma Maxine Moses and Virginia Lee Jaynes.

Friends may call from noon to time of service Thursday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Roger Overbey officiating. Interment will be in Hagy Cemetery.
