Term limits

I am calling about the poll results about the terms for the city council. I agree wholeheartedly, they should not be allowed to serve more than two terms. That's what's wrong with the federal government. Congress should have term limits. People get in there and stay until they're carried out seat first. They get the big bucks from the lobbyists. I'm thankful the president only gets two terms.

Golf carts

I just saw someone driving a golf cart down the streets of Cape Girardeau. I'm sure it's safer than the scooters that are legal to drive, but I wonder if golf carts are legal to drive.

Capaha bathrooms

I saw more than 2,000 people at Capaha Field. I love the sign I saw on the bathroom wall: "Cape Girardeau proudly presents Capaha latrine: No soap, no towels, no toilet paper." There was only one working commode at the field. As a fan, I've traveled to watch SEMO and the Capahas play around the country, and no place is worse than Capaha. At least the holes are filled in the walls.

Stolen flowers

Here it goes again, someone stole flowers off my wife's grave. At least they waited until after Easter. I waited for the trees to get trimmed and grass to get mowed. This is the third time it's happened. I don't know which is worse, that I can't put flowers on my wife's grave or people who don't clean up after their dogs.

Sidewalks

Why is the city spending all this money putting in sidewalks when people don't use the ones there all ready.

Entitlements

Obama has tried to open and resume the enactment of expansive entitlements. He claimed he wouldn't do this in his second inaugural address. This will hurt the middle class.

Library, fireworks

I can't believe the Jackson Library will be closed, but $6,000 will be spent on fireworks. I read it twice to make sure. It sounds like one of the dumb things going on here in Jackson.

Outlaw bombs

The terrible bombing in Boston made me think we should outlaw bombs.

Morning after pill

I would like to comment about the morning after pill. I hear it will be available for girls as young as 12. I thought if one had sex with a girl under 17, it is considered statutory rape.

Price of pot holes

Just paid $250.00 for alignment and shocks on my car from hitting all the "pot holes" on the streets of Cape Girardeau.
