BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- A Bollinger County judge has been appointed by the Missouri Supreme Court to preside over the case of a Stoddard County man challenging the scanning of concealed-carry gun permit documents by the Missouri Department of Revenue

Presiding Judge Robert Mayer last week recused himself from the case.

The case has been assigned to Judge Scott Thomsen. No hearing date has been set.

The lawsuit was filed by Eric Griffin of Advance, Mo., after a trip to the license bureau, during which he was told his personal documents, such as his Social Security number and concealed-carry permit, would have to be scanned by the license office.
