Council seeks to fund artist in residency
The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri is seeking donors to help fund the artist-residency program at the Alternative Education Center in Cape Girardeau. The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri is seeking donors to help fund the artist-residency program at the Alternative Education Center in Cape Girardeau. The Arts Council was given a matching grant by the National Endowment for the Arts for the program and needs to raise a matching $2,500 by May 3 to receive the funds.
Funding will allow the program to continue for the 2013-2014 school year. The program has allowed students to participate in painting a mural, traditional African music and literature and theater.
