All the local high school events reported Thursday to the Southeast Missourian.

Zach Elfrink and James Jansen had two-out RBI singles in the ninth inning to propel the Leopold baseball team to a 5-3 victory over host Oak Ridge on Thursday.

The hits made a winner of Joe Elfrink, who struck out 15 batters in a complete-game performance for Leopold (11-6-1). Elfrink, who improved to 4-0, walked two and all three runs were earned.

Austin Bucher and Dillan Vandeven both had doubles for the Wildcats, who had 15 total hits.

Kelby Brown and Ryan Below both had doubles for the Blue Jays.

Lance Rohde was the losing pitcher, allowing two hit in one inning. Jake LeGrand pitched the first eight inning for Oak Ridge (7-7), striking out five and walking one.

Layton Tenkhoff triples in both of his at-bats to lead the Red Devils in the five-inning blowout at home.

Cody Payne was the winning pitcher. He threw a complete game and gave up no earned runs on three hits with 11 strikeouts and two walks for Chaffee.

Paris Johnson suffered the loss on the mound. He pitched four innings and gave up 10 earned runs on 14 hits and had one strikeout and two walks for the Crusaders.

Mandy Evans scored the Tigers' only goal unassisted in the loss at home.

Goalkeeper Brooke Anderson made 17 saves for Central (5-12-1).

Maci Daniel and Brianna Mueller both scored two goals and had one assist to lead the host Crusaders to victory.

Tess Daniel recorded the other goal and also had one assist for Saxony Lutheran (16-1). Kristy Winter and Maddie Brune also had an assist.

Goalkeeper Abby Goeckeler recorded the shutout.

The Pirates dropped to 9-6 with the loss.

JCAA Tournament

Levi Gotto shot a 7-over-par 79 to earn the medalist honor as the St. Vincent golf team won the Jefferson County Activities Association (JCAA) Conference Tournament at the Ste. Genevieve Country Club on Wednesday.

The Indians also clinched the Jefferson County regular-season conference title by defeating St. Pius X during the tournament, which doubled as a makeup match for a rainout. St. Vincent posted a 9-0 record in conference play and finished 11-1 overall during the season.

Perryville's Brett Schnurbusch carded an 89 to pace the Pirates, who finished third.

Chaffee Invitational

Ellie Sigman placed first in two events to help the Chaffee girls clinch first place in their own 11-team meet.

Sigman posted a first-place time of 1 minute, 4.72 seconds in the 400 run and won the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 2 inches.

Oran's Addie Kielhofner also took first place in two events to pace the Eagles, who finished second with an overall score of 90.

Kelly's Dakaria Johnson finished first in two events as well for the Hawks, who placed third overall with a score of 71.

On the boys' side, Charleston finished 20 points ahead of Chaffee to claim first. The Red Devils posted a first-place time of 3:48 in the 1,600 relay, and Dustin Worley won the shot put with a throw of 45-6 1/4.

Alan Lowe finished ahead of the pack in the 800 and 1,600 runs to pace Kelly, which finished third overall.
