Jackson schools briefly locked down
Some Jackson schools were locked down briefly Tuesday afternoon.
Wade Bartels, chief financial officer and security coordinator for Jackson R-2 School District, said a few schools on the west side of town were locked down at the behest of police officers, who called back a short time later to give the district the all-clear....Southeast Missourian
Some Jackson schools were locked down briefly Tuesday afternoon.
Wade Bartels, chief financial officer and security coordinator for Jackson R-2 School District, said a few schools on the west side of town were locked down at the behest of police officers, who called back a short time later to give the district the all-clear.
It was not immediately clear what prompted the lockdown. A Jackson Police Department dispatcher said the lockdown was initiated by the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department.
