Central golfer Travis Simmons continued his strong junior season by earning the medalist honor at the Class 4 District 1 tournament Tuesday at Aberdeen Golf Club in Eureka, Mo.

Simmons, who also was the medalist at the SEMO Conference medalist last week and the Notre Dame Invitational early in the season, shot a 1-over 73 to edge Lindbergh's Cristopher Ferris by a shot.

"He's just having a fantastic season," Central coach Dick Wadlington said. "The two of them kind of separated themselves from the rest of the field. Travis is just playing really welll. I'm really proud of him."
