The Illmo Special Road District Commission has declared war on illegal dumping along two roads maintained by the district; the commission says it will prosecute anyone found dumping along Scott County Road 305, northeast of Scott City, and the Rock Levee Road, just outside the Scott City limits.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Ann Horn recently was recognized by the American Red Cross; Horn used skills learned in a Red Cross course to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation to an automobile victim, who was revived by the procedure last year.

The Rev. George W. Heslar, superintendent of the Cape Girardeau-Farmington district, dedicates building improvements to the Gravel Hill Methodist Church at Burfordville in the morning; a basket dinner follows the service.

State College officials are planning to seek federal funding for a long-needed men's dormitory and social center; the college will apply to the Public Works Administration for a grant to supplement the amount appropriated by the state for the new library and museum building and a new dormitory.

E.F. Gallagher, manager of the Broadway Theater here for three years, is transferred to Centralia, Ill., to become manager of the Illinois Theater; he will be succeeded here by Ed Koegel, who came to Cape Girardeau last August as manager of the Orpheum Theater.

Charleston, Mo., ran away with the eighth annual meet of the Southeast Missouri High School Athletic Association on Saturday afternoon with a total of 63 points; Sikeston, Mo., was second with 22 points, and Bloomfield, Mo., third with 14 1/5 points.

R.S. Douglass, Fred Naeter, Dr. Ivan Lee Holt, George S. Summers, E.R. Gramling and A.H. Hinchey of the Chautauqua executive committee meet with O.E. Behymer of the Vawter Chautauqua system to arrange for a showing here Aug. 11-15; the program decided on is a most excellent one.
